JOB CORPS STUDENTS WIN COLLEGE PLACEMENT AT TOP COLLEGES
Twenty-three students from the Grafton Job Corps Career Development Center have won placement in four-year colleges, including some of the nation’s best tertiary learning institutions. Another five students have been admitted to community colleges. This number could increase to up to 31 students as three are still awaiting final college acceptance confirmation. The Grafton Center’s College Prep Program is conducted jointly with the Worcester YMCA Minority Achievers Program in Worcester, Massachusetts and the results, according to Center Director Dr. Patrick van Rooyen, may be unique to Job Corps. » read more

Shriver’s New MILCAP Excites Military Recruiters
With six new enlistees in ten weeks, another thirteen Shriver students processing for enlistment, the Shriver Career Center’s new MILCAP – Military Careers Preparation Program – has military recruiters enthused. Launched in May, MILCAP provides a special training group within the Shriver Job Corps Center at Devens for students that are interested in or seeking military careers. » read more
